Expanding from Norway to Europe
Hallo Deutschland! After helping thousands of Norwegian drivers compare prices on the periodic vehicle inspection, we are taking the next step. eukontrollpris.no is expanding into Europe, and Germany is first.
Why Germany
Germany runs one of the largest periodic vehicle inspection regimes in Europe through the Hauptuntersuchung, commonly shortened to HU and widely associated with the TÜV testing organizations. Roughly 30 million vehicles go through the process every year, and prices vary significantly between providers, regions, and inspection bodies. The market looks a lot like the one we set out to fix in Norway: a mandatory service, opaque pricing, and very few easy ways for drivers to compare.
What stays the same
Our model does not change. The service remains free for drivers. Workshops and inspection stations appear in the comparison based on objective criteria like price, distance, and customer ratings, not on whether they pay us. The platform stays independent, and rankings are never for sale.
What is next
The German service launches in stages, starting with major metropolitan areas and rolling out across the federal states through 2027. Norwegian users will not notice any change to eukontrollpris.no, the Norwegian service continues exactly as before. The new German site runs on its own domain with a localized brand built specifically for the German market.
